February 2019 a story in pictures

Monday was the last trip up before Brian and Sheila’s departure.  Shelia bought a whole bunch of beaded handicrafts from the teachers to bring back home and sell as a fundraiser.  An end of season meeting was held with the teachers to discuss upcoming decisions.  Sheila, Andree and I helped the kids prepare cards in response to those received from the Wakefield school.  Natalie and Andree both took lots of pictures for the website, blog and next year’s fundraising calendar.  We all had a lot of fun!

fINALLY, I got the teaching materials organized and into binders for each teacher.

February 28th 2019 update eye glass distribution

YEsterday, I finally found the Casa por Los Ancienos, or the Senior' Centre here.
I stopped in to greet the people attending and explain that I had eye glasses to give them.
WOW, were they EXCITED!!  We got newspapers and spread out the glasses so the ladies and gentlemen could try them on.
Here are a couple of pictures of me speaking to them and various seniors selecting glasses to help them see better to read and do crafts.
Again, a huge thanks to everyone who has returned their glasses so that they could be sent down here, where they really are life changing
