JANUARY 10TH 2014 FUNDRAISING

Tyler and McKayla who will be keeping students at Wakefield Elementary school  updated on how donated funds are being used.

Wakefield Elementary School. Students from Miss Borst's grade 6 class will make posters to display in the school which will highlight how the school's donations to the Guatemala Daycare Project are being given used this year in the daycares. We will send emails with pictures to the school once we begin work in Guatemala. This year 2 wonderful student initiatives featuring grade 5 students who made comic books and Christmas cards and bookmarks were a "hit" at the Christmas Sale.  The proceeds from the sale of these items ( which took the students a month to prepare ) were donated to the daycare project. Thank you to these young entrepreneurs for all their hard work to help those in need.

The Peggy Brewin Pre-School where the senior class lovingly prepared beautiful self portraits and colourful heart hand print pictures to send down to the Guatemala Daycare children. All these young people  from both schools are representing themselves very well as ambassadors for their schools and the caring community in which they live. Watch for specially created cards that will feature artwork from both Guatemala and Canada for the spring fundraisers.

FUNDRAISING DECEMBER 2013

Wakefield Elementary School has supported this daycare project since its inception by allocating a significant portion of the proceeds of their Christmas Sale.
This year some very enthusiastic Grade 5 students came up with their own initiatives to help in the fundraising. For nearly a month, five boys wrote a series of 14 comics booklets and 4 girls drew up Christmas cards and bookmarks which they sold  and donated all their proceeds to the Guatemala Daycare Project. Well done!!
